I shouldn't laugh but your comment about the old ladies possibly kicking it by way of falling concrete reminded me of the priceless scenes in A Fish Called Wanda which entail just that.

Re: Two Unexpected Visitors

Your comment about cats digging holes in furniture reminded me of something: One time I could not find my cat after an earthquake when I was living in southern California. I searched and searched. Finally, I went to bed, all worried. Then I heard this strange sound and she crawled OUT OF THE MATTRESS. In her terror, she had dug a hole in the box spring and crawled inside!

Yesterday I thought about the whole man-on-the-balcony thing and I still wonder why I wasn't more scared. I think it's partly because I'm in a foreign country and am getting used to the strange and unexpected. Maybe it was because his climbing gear was so expensive looking. I'm not sure. But I sat in my bed calmly, with my mind racing. Anyway, even if he burst in the room, I could just breath on him like the Grinch who stole Christmas and he'd faint dead away.

Re: Two Unexpected Visitors

My cat no longer tried to burrow under the sheets to enter the tent, as she prefers to stay downstairs in the dark where she can make countless holes in the back of the leather chair like no one will notice them the next day. I, for one, would not want want to worry about strange men on my balcony or stone objects falling from the sky -- especially with my particular brand of unbrushed breath.

Re: Two Unexpected Visitors

Mao the Tent Girl...HAHAHA!

OK, I hope you learned a lesson from this = BRUSH YOUR TEETH!
...Ya never know when an alien hammer wielder muscle man building climber guy is gonna show up! And anyway, in the theme of your beautiful post http://stillmover.blogspot.... ...

There is a time for adventure, and a time for staying close to home. (Or, something like that :-) And home can have so many meanings...)

By the way, when I discovered your blog yesterday (?) I sent a link to my friend who wants to start doing Tai Chi and has been looking in all the Paris parks for random Tai-Chi-Doing (pronounced dong - Asian pun! Asian pun!) people. Then last night we stopped by a friend's restaurant. He was closed for business because he goes in for surgery today, but he had two friends with them enjoying a little snack and some wine. So, we joined them. We knew the woman there - she works for him from time to time as a waitress/hostess. She was in an Aikido outfit so we started talking about martial arst and I told her I used to study Tai Chi years ago and enjoyed it. She says she studies both. She likes the balance between an agressive Aikido and a slow moving Tai Chi. Then she let us know there was a place in our neighborhood to take Tai Chi classes. Yay! So, I will get up my nerve and go join. Just a little synchronicity story for ya.

Re: Two Unexpected Visitors

After reading this post I feel "My life is much less interesting than I'm comfortable with!"

Clearly, I haven't had enough adventure!

Re: Two Unexpected Visitors

Hello Indi - Thank you SO much for your kind compliments.
