Despicable! Few things are more aggravating than being duped by scammers / ID thieves. It's such a hopeless feeling...

Yes, there are good people as well as bad. It depends on the situation as to which type predominate. Some scams are simple rip-offs, but those like the one that you describe are earth-shattering for the victim.

So sad that scams are so prevalent that your niece was taken in. Has there been any progress on finding the person responsible?

I know, it is probably futile.

I am glad things have worked out for Brooke, and she is staying with the darling little widow. I hope this hasn't soured her experience on Paris at all.

Excellent stories ALWAYS include maidens in distress, little old widows and scoundrels who rip off either one. Glad to hear of the outcome, Brooke seems to be well off now. YAY!
